Brussels, March 27th, 2009 - Alpha Card, issuer of American Express cards in Belgium and Luxemburg and owner of an acceptance network of their credit cards in local business, has recently taken over BCC Corporate. BCC Corporate is one of the most important issuers of credit cards for professional use in Belgium.

BCC Corporate used to be part of Bank Card Company. After the Atos takeover of Bank Card Company, BCC Corporate continued as an independent company, owned by the four largest Belgian banks. (ING, Dexia, Fortis Bank and KBC)
Alpha Card takes over all shares of BCC Corporate and becomes therefore their mother company. In a first stage, both companies will continue functioning as separate entities.
As a result of this takeover and in mutual agreement, Eric Govers, current CEO of BCC Corporate will hand over his responsibilities to Martine De Rouck, former CEO of Bank van de Post.

Alpha Card is the issuer of American Express cards for company and private usage and offers lodged cards (Business travel Accounts). They are also responsible for acceptance of their credit cards in local business. Alpha Card was founded in 1998 as a joint venture between Fortis Bank and American Express and is active in the Belgian and Luxemburg market. March 26th 2009, Alpha Card became the mother company of BCC Corporate.
